Perillon Software appoints D.J. Charles to Vice President of Development and CTO

Littleton, MA. -- Perillon Software, a leading environmental, health and safety (EH&S) management software vendor, announced today that D.J. Charles has been appointed to Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Charles will have responsibility for leading Perillon's development, quality assurance and technical publications groups. In addition, Mr. Charles will be responsible for technology and product strategy, and execution of product development. “The EH&S market is growing rapidly with two trends emerging – the need to support strategic “going green” and sustainability initiatives, and the market demanding simpler and easier to use software” said John Niemoller, Perillon President and COO “D.J. has extensive experience in user interaction and Software-as-a-Service products that addressed strategic business needs while providing simple deployment and easy to use software. His experience, his creativity and his leadership abilities will help us capitalize on these market trends.” Mr. Charles joined Perillon in late 2006 and led a successful user interface re-design and the development of Workspace Mobile, an innovative software solution for handhelds.

Mr. Charles has been a key contributor to start-ups for 15 years and has held a wide-ranging array of responsibilities from software programming and architecture to executive management. At SupplyWorks, he was the first full-time member of the software engineering team and seven years later assumed responsibility of the entire organization as General Manager through two successful product hand-offs resulting from acquisition activities. Prior to SupplyWorks, Mr. Charles built his expertise in Software-as-a-Service by managing innovative technology development efforts in the areas of electronic banking, B2B and B2C electronic commerce, and enterprise integration. A graduate of Northeastern University and former Berklee College of Music attendee, he is known for his creativity, focus on user interaction, and ability to lead people.
